The Hadith of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) Regarding the Revelation of "Wahy" : An Analytical Study

Abstract

This study highlights an important Prophetic ḥadīth that recounts the first instance of divine revelation to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The narration not only offers detailed insight into the initial experience of receiving revelation but also unveils the divine kindness shown to the Prophet ﷺ during this significant moment. It equally reflects the immense responsibility that the Prophet ﷺ undertook as the final messenger of Allah. Moreover, the ḥadīth in question is one of the lengthier narrations found in the Sunnah, which naturally attracted scholarly attention due to the wealth of unique insights and legal or spiritual issues embedded within it. This research, therefore, aims to present a careful and in-depth analysis of the ḥadīth, identifying key themes and deriving essential lessons from the text.
